Okonjo Iweala must be brought to justice- Oshiomole insist

Edo state governor Adams Oshiomole yesterday called for the inclusion of Okonjo-Iweala in the ongoing probe on missing $2.1billion arms deal. Oshiomole said this while speaking to state house correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari at the state house yesterday December 9th.
“The NSA is supposed to be an advisory officer. He is not supposed to be a procurement agent for government. I am happy the figures are coming out and I know that this is a tip of the iceberg and I read some reports, the numbers are in billions, Dasuki is just one bleeding point; there are several bleeding points in the system.
You look at the total number of expenditure on subsidy which the World Bank has just released figures; about how many trillions of Naira over the past four to five years. I am shocked. I have been talking about it, I just said to a couple of persons, the government has to go the whole hog, because I know as a governor that no money gets out of the treasury even after I have approved as the governor without the approval of the Commissioner for Finance; so the probe should go into whether all these monies are appropriated all of it; when the money got out of the treasury, through who? The Minister of Finance under the rules must endorse before money gets out of the treasury, before the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approves. So for the Ministers of Finance, including Okonjo – Iweala, I don’t care what people say because you cannot be coordinating a corruption-ridden economy and you pretend to be an angel, you cannot selectively deal with issues; you must deal with all involved in the conspiracy. In criminal law when two to three people are involved in a act of criminality, all of them are charged with conspiracy. Now if you lay your hands on the various appropriation bills passed by the National Assembly and see how much the National Assembly appropriated for subsidy for all those periods, you will find out they are not even up to half of what was spent. This means that money not appropriated for was spent. If people are involved in those acts, they must be brought to justice,” he said

My head too big I concur,LOL! Soyinka calls for caution on Biafra agitation

Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has called on the Nigerian government to be cautious in dealing with the recent Pro-Biafrans agitations. Soyinka made the call during a recent interview with Channels TV
"I wrote an article during the war that Biafra cannot be defeated. People misunderstood what I was saying. Once an idea has taken hold, you cannot destroy that idea. You may destroy the people, the carriers of that idea on the battle field but ultimately it’s not the end of the story.
Let’s not take this position of ‘don’t even talk about it’, ‘under my watch this will never happen’, don’t say things like that. Go into that environment and ask ‘what is it that we can do to make you happy and feel part of this entity?’ Listen to some other Biafrans and ask them why they want to stay (and say) ‘this is what we are ready to push as the overall authority in this area’. Don’t go around saying ‘the sovereignty of the country is indivisible, it’s non-negotiable’ all that kind of language will only make matters worse,” he said.

Like seriously? RCCG don't need your offerings anymore, Adeboye to Sinners

Saraki denies being part of N310m robbery allegation

Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, December 8, dismissed claims that he was the owner of the N310m said to have been stolen during a robbery operation involving some military and State Security Service (SSS) officials. In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said the stolen money did not belong to him and that he did not know the owner, who is said to be a Bureau De Change operator.
"The Senate President was in Paris attending the Globe COP 21 Conference for Legislators on the Climate Change when we read the Sahara Reporters version of the report on a statement issued by the spokesperson of the SSS.
The initial reaction of the Senate President when his attention was drawn to the SaharaReporters story in Paris was that the owners and their sponsors of the online medium simply wanted to draw him into a needless controversy and therefore they should be ignored. However, on his return to Abuja Monday night when many of his friends and well wishers expressed concern over his silence on the report, it became necessary for him to make clarification on it. "We want to say categorically that Dr. Saraki is not the owner of the stolen money. He does not know the owner who is said to be a Bureau de change operator. The Police that investigated the robbery incident and the SSS, which issued a statement on it, can confirm that there is no link between the Senate President with the ownership of the money. "Unfortunately, two of the suspects in the case are said to be part of the men attached to the security team of the Senate President. As anybody could confirm, the SSS selects its officers who are attached to top officials. In most cases, the principal does not select who work in his security team. In fact, the first time the Senate President heard about the incident was when the Commissioner of Police, Abuja, requested the Aide-in-Camp to get his permission for the SSS agents to report to his office in connection with an on-going investigation on a robbery incident. "To further put a lie to the claims by SaharaReporters, Dr. Saraki hereby requests that the security agencies involved in the investigation should make further public clarification on the case so as to enlighten members of the public. The Senate President just like any interested Nigerian followed the police investigation as it progresses, believing that justice will be done at the end of the day. "The report by SaharaReporters is another case of manipulation and distortion of facts and situations to achieve some sinister purposes. This online medium is, with every false reports it publishes against the person and office of the Senate President discrediting itself and making it clear that it is not worth believing by reasonable members of the public," the statement added

President Buhari's foreign trips not frivolous- Minister of information

According to the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, President Buhari's foreign trips since assuming office are not frivolous but are critical to the implementation of his administration's key policies of enhancing security, jump-starting the economy, creating jobs and fighting corruption.

In a statement issued on Friday December 4th in Abuja, the Minister said all the trips have been anything but frivolous, and that they have started yielding fruits in terms of turning the tide in the fight against the insurgents who have been most active in the North-east, attracting investments in the range of billions of dollars, and securing global support for the administration's anti-corruption fight.
''Nigerians, whether in the ruling or the opposition parties, have a right to ask questions about the activities of their President, but it is absolutely important that they do so from an informed, rather than partisan or sensational, standpoint,'' he said. Lai Mohammed explained that most of Buhari's trips to Nigeria's neighbouring countries of Benin, Cameroon, Chad and Niger, as well as to Germany, the US, France and the UN, were devoted to rallying regional and global support for the war against terrorism ''He was in Germany at the invitation of the G7 to solicit support from the Industrialized Nations for the war against terrorism. No one who has witnessed the killings and maiming in the past seven years by Boko Haram will call such trips frivolous. After all, the security and welfare of the citizens are the reason for the existence of any government. 'The President's visit to South Africa was to attend the regular summit of the African Union; the trip to Ghana was aimed at fostering better relations with a brotherly country; the trip to India was for the India-Africa summit that provided the opportunity to explore ways of enhancing Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) from Indian investors, while the trip to Iran was to attend the forum of Gas Exporting Countries, a veritable platform for discussing how to better harness Nigeria's abundant gas resources for industrial/domestic consumption and export, at a time of dwindling oil prices. 'The President also travelled to Malta to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, from where he travelled to Paris for the UN Conference on Climate Change. The President's second trip to South Africa since assuming office is for the China-Africa forum. On the few occasions that the President has embarked on a State Visit, he has tied that to an agenda that will further the quest for support for the war against terror and the efforts to enhance FDIs, thus stimulating economic growth and creating jobs,''he said.
Lai Mohammed added that apart from rallying global support for the country's wars on terror and graft or seeking foreign investments, it is important that Nigeria leverages President Buhari's brand, a high integrity quotient and an embodiment of committed and dedicated leadership, to further Nigeria's relevance and visibility on the global stage.
''President Buhari is well respected on the global stage for his high integrity, his transparency, his patriotism and his purposeful leadership. It is important to leverage this respect in such a way that Nigeria can become a major player, either in the realms of economy or global diplomacy,''.
He said the President had embarked on the trips under a very stringent budget, cutting his delegations to numbers far below what his predecessors used to travel with, while even the trimmed entourage had received reduced allowances on the occasions that the host governments have provided accommodation and feeding.

Papa welcome to 21st century: Drone films 75 year old man having sex with a hooker in his car(pics)

A suspected prostitute and her alleged 75 year old pensioner client have been hit with criminal charges after being filmed by a drone. The flying camera was operated by a vigilante anti-prostitution activist who recorded Douglas Blansett, 75 and Amanda Zolicoffer, 27, getting it on in the front of his truck, police claim.

The pair are now facing public lewdness charges in connection with the incident earlier this year in Oklahoma City, US.

The drone is shown dropping to within a few feet of the vehicle so it is reflected in the windscreen.
It films Blansett astride Zolicoffer in the front seat of the white pickup truck.

The duo separated after Zolicoffer, who was identified by her tattoo saying "Baby Gangster", saw the drone hovering overhead.
The footage was filmed by Brian Bates, an Oklahoma “video vigilante” who makes it his business to name and shame prostitutes and their clients via his website.
Writing on his website, Bates said he had chosen the drone because his previous practise of "running up and opening car doors of people engaging in criminal acts" and then filming them was "pretty damn dangerous".
He said at least three people he has caught on camera were later convicted of committing murder and several of the women he had documented had themselves been murdered.
So instead of risking being hurt he decided "why not reduce the risk of personal injury and simply let a drone go in for the “You’re Busted Buddy” moment?".

In March, Bates followed Zolicoffer when she climbed into the truck of a suspected client and trailed it until it turned down a deserted road leading to a tire yard.

From an adjacent street, Bates then launched a drone and flew it above the parked Ford F-150. He then posted the footage on his YouTube page and showed it to police.
In probable cause affidavits , an Oklahoma City police officer reported receiving the drone video from Bates.

The cop confirmed Bates’s account that “Zolicoffer’s pants were off and the driver appeared to be having sexual intercourse with Zolicoffer.”

Sergeant Ben Lacaze added :
“Once Zolicoffer and the driver saw the drone, they immediately ceased their activity and left the area.”
Oklahoma City cops last month arrested Zolicoffer and Blansett for public lewdness and released them on bail.
Both have pleaded not guilty to the charge and are free on $500 bond.
