yekpaa! Son kills father after failed church deliverance

On Tuesday night in Sabo, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State a suspected drug addict allegedly pushed down his 69-year-old father during an argument. He was said to have fallen, collapsed and died instantly.
On Wednesday morning, the suspect vandalised a blue Honda Accord which belonged to his brother-in-law. He was eventually subdued, given some sedatives and detained.

Daily Sun gathered that there was a scuffle had occurred between the father and his son when the former took him to church on Tuesday for deliverance from drug addiction.
It was during the altercation that the son pushed his father who collapsed and was later confirmed dead at a private hospital.
An eyewitness said:
“As a parent, the father was not happy that the boy smokes Indian hemp and so much has been spent on him and he was not ready to take him to psychiatric hospital because of finance, that was what took them to the church before he came back and broke the wind screen of a car belonging to his brother-in-law.”

Nawaooo! Father and daughter in incestuous relationship demand right to bring up their baby

A 36 year old father and his 18 year old teenage daughter who have just had a baby together have gone public with their incestuous relationship after their child was taken from them and into care.
The father Cris and daughter Sara from Mallorca, Spain, insist they are in love and should be allowed to bring up their daughter, who is also the man's granddaughter.
Incest is not against the law in Spain as long as it is between two consenting adults. Eww..

Temporary custody of the child was awarded to the state over concerns about the father's abusive relationship with his ex-wife, who is his daughter's mother.
Now the couple have gone public with their relationship and hope that they can have their baby returned to their care.
Speaking about how their relationship started, Cris told local newspaper, Cronica Balear :
"Our relationship started like they all do, with flirting, getting along and then trust.
"We may be father and daughter but she has never seen me as a parent because I am much more like a friend than a father figure."
Before their baby was born Sara was allegedly told she would either have to give the child up for adoption or move away and raise the newborn alone.

She said she had decided to agree to a temporary separation from her father after the birth - but within an hour of its arrival the baby was taken away from her by the Govt.

She says she has had plenty of experience with children having helped to raise her four younger siblings and is the best person to care for her child.
Sara told the paper:
"My relationship may be unusual but it would be worse for a child to be given up for adoption or grow up in a centre. "People say the relationship is wrong, well I respect their opinion but I do not care."

Karim Benzema finally speaks on sex tape scandal

Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema has spoken out for the first time to the media since the sex tape saga involving him and France teammate Mathieu Valbuena surfaced publicly. Benzema was arrested and interrogated by French police and is accused of plotting and conspiring with childhood friend Karim Zenati to blackmail Lyon midfielder Mathieu Valbuena over a sextape the midfielder was involved in.

Benzema's involvement in the plot has not yet been fully determined but investigators believe he was approached by a childhood friend, Karim Zenati, to act as an intermediary and convince Valbuena to deal directly with the blackmailers.

Last week Valbuena said he was disappointed in Benzema but now speaking to TF1, Benzema said;
''I’d heard there was a video out there. I said I’d let him know. But I got the impression he already knew about it. I told him I could help him because I have a friend in Lyon [Benzema’s childhood friend Karim Zenati] that could deal with the problem.

“We spoke about it. I asked him if he had warned his family. I told him I’d found myself in situations like this in the past and that I’d told the police. He [Valbuena] told me he had told the police about it.
Then afterwards, when I hear all this talk about extortion, and that I’d demanded money from him – it makes me angry. The idea that I would need money, or my friend would need money – it’s ridiculous. I’ve earned a good living for a long time. I don’t need money. We never, never spoke about money.”
Asked if he understood why Valbuena has said he is “very disappointed” in him he replied: “I understand. But that night, he wasn’t disappointed. On the contrary. He said to me – and he could tell you this himself – ‘thanks, brother, for having warned me.’”

Benzema also hit back at French prime minister Manuel Valls' comments for saying he had no place on the French national team..
“I’m getting accused of all sorts of things. They’re dragging my name through the mud as if I was a criminal. It’s horrible.”

He added: “The only thing I regret in this whole thing is to have laughed about it on the phone with my childhood friend [Zenati]. That’s the only thing. I apologise to him [Valbuena] and his family for that. On the phone you act silly; sometimes you laugh about things that may be serious, but you don’t take them seriously.”
'Hopefully it will end well, we will all be OK ... and we will all return to the France team to win that Euro,'
'I'm not playing for the cameras, I'm not playing a game,' insisted Benzema .
'I'm here to be sincere.'

Le Monde published statements given by Benzema to the judge investigating the case after he spent a night in custody at Versailles police station in  November. Benzema denied his implication in the saga and told the judge he was a victim of 'a big misunderstanding,' saying he was rich so he doesn't understand why he will blackmail.

'I am really disappointed with the magnitude of this story, because blackmail and stuff like that, frankly it's very serious,' Benzema was quoted as saying.

'I've been successful in my life and (Zenati) is being looked after, because he is my boyhood friend,' Benzema said. 'That's why I don't understand this story about blackmail and money.'

The court has placed Benzema under judicial supervision, meaning he cannot meet with Valbuena during the investigation. If the case continues to drag on until the Euros start on June 10, France coach Didier Deschamps won't be able to call both players in his squad for the continental tournament.

EFCC officials yesterday raided the Abuja home of Chairman of Daar Communications, Raymond Dokpesi who is being interrogated for his alleged connection in the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal. The search lasted over an hour. Speaking to newsmen after the search, Dokpesi said
"Its a change of Environment. Its quite peaceful, quite okay. PDP release press statement on Dokpesi's arrest...says APC govt on opposition, media clamp-down

Read the press statement after the cut...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemns in its entirety, the arrest of media mogul, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi and other opposition elements by the APC-led Federal Government.
The party also alerted that it has been made aware that more notable PDP leaders have similarly been listed for arrest over unproven allegations pursuant to the plot by the APC to cow and silence opposition in the country.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh in a statement on Tuesday said the military style of pronouncement of guilt on Chief Dokpesi before any fair hearing, betrays the fact that he is a victim of political persecution and mob trial by the APC government because of his association with the PDP.

“While the PDP is not against the war against corruption, we insist that the crusade must be carried out within the limits of the law and not as a guise to persecute and torture opposition elements in the country.

“Our fear is that with the pronouncement of guilt even without being giving the opportunity within his rights as a citizen to state his own side of the story, the President Buhari-led government is sidestepping the laws to ensure that Chief Dokpesi does not get justice in the court, a plot which they want to extend to other PDP leaders.

“The PDP therefore demands an open and public trial of all those arrested so that all issues and charges against them as well as their defence therein would also be in the public domain. We demand a proper investigation and lawful prosecution instead of the reprehensible resort to outright political persecution, which can only have a place in a military regime.

“We also note that this development may not be unconnected with the planned onslaught against the media, following its commitment in holding this dictatorial regime accountable since it took office.

“Finally, we call on the international community and rights bodies worldwide to note the growing impunity and gross violation of human rights by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government tailored to decimate the opposition and cow the media in Nigeria.

Signed:

Chief Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary

His conduct wasn't as bad as his dad's but he was shown a red card for what was later said to be a violent conduct. That's him wearing the green goalkeeper kit. Right is his father's infamous headbutting incident.

Church member steals Pastor's car(pics)

The Oyo state police command have arrested and paraded one Wasiu Adetunji Lawal, a middle aged man who went to a church in search of a wife but ended up stealing and selling off the vehicle of the church pastor in Ibadan, Oyo state. Paraded along with Wasiu Adetunji Lawal, Isiaka Babatunde, Jamiu Rahman, Wasiu Adelani and Abdulazeez Ahmed.

Narrating what happened to Tribune, the victim, Pastor Akorede Aderounmu said
"The suspect (Lawal) came to our church, looking for a lady to marry. After a while, he got close to me. One day, he said he wanted to help me repair something in my car. He had earlier said that he was an auto dealer. He disappeared with my vehicle for three months before it was recovered from the person he sold it to in Kaduna. Before his arrest, I called him severally but he always told me that he would soon bring the car, unknown to me that he had already sold it. I never instructed him to sell the car as he claimed.”.
The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade who paraded the suspect and his accomplices, said that Lawal went away with the Toyota Sequia SUV belonging to one Pastor John Akorede Aderounmu under the pretext that he wanted to carry out some repairs, only to abscond with the vehicle.
“The suspect sold the vehicle to a criminal receiver in Kaduna State without the knowledge and the consent of the owner, and refused to respond to the owner’s calls when he demanded for the return of his vehicle.” Oyebade stated.
He added that when Lawal was arrested, he confessed to have sold the vehicle, leading to the arrest of other suspects. Exhibits recovered from the gang include a Toyota Sequiao SUV, 13 vehicle particulars, nine forged Customs paper, number plate with registration number BH 299 BKA and other documents.

When interrogated, the suspect, Lawal denied stealing the car, claiming it was the Pastor who asked him to sell the vehicle and he had given him an additional N400,000 to add to the N800,000 which he realized from the sale. He could not however respond when asked why he wasn't answering the Pastor's call after collecting the car.

Minister of Transportation orders probe of maritime academy over N18bn remittances

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has ordered a probe into the financial activities of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa Ibom State and N18 billion remittances to the institution by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in the last five years. Amaechi gave the order following allegations of financial recklessness and large scale fraud leveled against the academy’s rector, Joshua Okpo.

The academy's rector had recently approached Amaechi to accuse NIMASA of starving the institute of Funds. Amaechi immediately called for a meeting with the management of NIMASA and enquired from them why it was sitting on the subvention of MAN, Oron.

This claim was however refuted by NIMASA's acting DG, Haruna Jauro who told Amaechi that the agency had remitted over N18 billion to the academy since 2009. At the enquiry of the minister, the MAN rector, Okpo said he only took over in 2011 to which NIMASA declared that a sum of N13 billion was remitted to the institution since the rector took over. When asked what he had done with the N13 billion remitted to the academy since he took over as Rector, Okpo kept giving incoherent and inconsistent answers. This made Amaechi to immediately call for a probe.
